Styles may change with the decades, but the impact of a great teacher can last a lifetime.
On 22 May 2026, Peninsula Private School celebrated Teachers’ Day 2026 with “RElife: 50s–70s”, a vibrant throwback celebration filled with music, performances, games and heartfelt appreciation for the educators who play an important role in shaping students’ lives.
Inspired by the distinctive styles of the 1950s to the 1970s, the celebration brought a nostalgic touch to the school as students and staff embraced the theme and enjoyed a lively programme together.
Singing, dancing and interactive games added plenty of energy to the occasion, creating moments of laughter and enjoyment for both teachers and students. Beyond the entertainment, however, the celebration carried a more meaningful message.
Students took time to prepare handmade notes for their teachers, expressing their gratitude in their own words. These personal messages became one of the most meaningful parts of the day, offering students an opportunity to recognise the encouragement, patience and guidance they receive throughout their school journey.
Teachers do much more than deliver lessons. They encourage curiosity, build confidence, offer reassurance when students face challenges and often leave an influence that extends far beyond the classroom.
The celebration was therefore not only about giving teachers a well-deserved day of fun, but also about reminding them that the everyday effort they put into teaching, guiding and supporting their students is seen and appreciated.
The “RElife: 50s–70s” Teachers’ Day celebration may have looked back at decades gone by, but its message remains timeless: great teachers leave an impact that stays with their students for years to come.
To all our teachers and staff, thank you for the passion, dedication and care you bring to school each day. You truly are at the heart of the PPS community.
