Miss Tan describes herself as a passionate leader who is guided by integrity. Her stated aim is to guide students onto a path that will allow them to fulfil their maximum potential through values and life skills inculcation. Miss Tan has over two decade’s experience as an academic and administrator, in both private and public education institutions. She believes the way to nurture quality students into dynamic community leaders is by providing a strong education support platform for them to flourish and excel. Her primary aim for Peninsula Private School is to foster a learning environment guided by integrity, respect, honesty and discipline.
Subject: English and Geography
Miss Stephanie has over a decade’s experience teaching on both national and private institutions. She is familiar with a number of syllabi including the national curriculum as well as the IGCSE. She believes that education can truly shape a person’s future and that students today have the power to shape the world. By embracing technology, Miss Stephanie hopes to be a guidig light for her students as they navigate the many challenges posed by the Internet age. Her lessons will involve plenty of project work as she believes hands on learning and team work will stimulate students’ inquisitiveness about the topic.
Subject: Bahasa Melayu
Ms Suhaila has over a decade’s experience teaching Bahasa Melayu in private schools and her enthusiasm remains undimmed as each new batch of students bring fresh personalities. She values student interaction and says the greatest reward for a teacher is to see students develop a thirst for knowledge. Her teaching methodology greatly involves use of computers in delivering Bahasa Melayu lessons to secondary students as she believes that today’s youth respond better to digital stimuli.
Subject: Physical Education
Mr Junaid has three years’ experience teaching physical education at a private school and has also acted as a sports coordinator. He has noted an upsurge in interest in outdoor activities as students yearn for physical activities post-lockdown. Mr Junaid will also act as the co-curricular activities coordinator and he intends to introduce students to a wide variety of sports. Mr Junaid derives great satisfaction when seeing his charges apply the correct sporting techniques when in the field of action and hopes to create a vibrant sporting culture at the school.

Miss Hafizah has five years teaching experience, specifically in the field of Visual Arts. Her know how extends to having served as Head of Humanities in a public school posting before joining Peninsula Private School. She is excited about sharing her passion for the arts with both primary and secondary students, believing that the subject is the best platform for students’ self-expression. She hopes to take her students on a journey of exploration with the ultimate goal of expanding their horizons.
Subject: Bahasa Melayu
Miss Siti Hajar believes teachers can have an immense positive impact on students simply by treating them as unique individuals. Her five years of teaching experience has been primarily in national language instruction but she also has had stints as a history as well as religious studies teacher. By creating moments in which students and teacher can bond, Miss Siti Hajar hopes to create a happy learning environment where students can thrive and excel. Keeping lessons fresh, exciting and varied is central to Miss Siti Hajar’s teaching methodology.
Subject: Mandarin
Miss Wang has been teaching in China for over a decade, including eight years tutoring foreigners on the finer points of the Mandarin language. She is well versed in the topics of Chinese humanities and culture, Chinese literature, Chinese history and Chinese geography. Her previous experience in China mean she is well acquainted with the teaching methodology and knows how best to adapt it to suit local needs, having already had recent postings in both Singapore and Malaysia. She is motivated to help students discover their niche interests and maximize their potential through a learning process designed to meet individual needs.

Miss Noor Hanini brings five years of teaching experience in Mathematics and Science to Peninsula Private School. Notably, she served as the Head of the Examination Unit at a previous private school, showcasing her leadership skills and dedication to academic excellence. Noor Hanini is passionate about her teaching, fostering strong teacher-student bonds to enhance comprehension and enjoyment of these subjects She uses various teaching methods like analogies, storytelling, and hands-on activities to help students grasp complex concepts. Her teaching philosophy centres on guiding students towards success through knowledge and instilling a growth mindset and a love for learning. Tan Wan Yin, fondly known as Ms. June, began teaching part-time in 2019 before transitioning to full-time private tutoring in 2021. She excels as a Mandarin teacher, using creativity, tailored lessons, and English proficiency to assist non-Mandarin speakers in an engaging learning environment. Ms. June’s dedication and compassionate approach enable her to customise teaching strategies for each student, guiding them towards language proficiency. Her educational philosophy centres on student potential, promoting collaborative learning and creating a positive, inclusive, and enjoyable environment that encourages students to embrace challenges and enjoy their educational journey.

Meet Ms Kim Geun-hwa, our Korean Language Teacher at Peninsula Private School. Ms Kim’s background includes roles as a secondary art teacher in South Korea and a specialised social worker providing guidance to autistic and intellectually disabled children. Additionally, she has experience in operating the Elderly Dementia Correction Programme. Kim finds joy in guiding students on their educational journeys, where her expertise lies in fostering efficient learning through a range of strategies and a positive mindset. Further, her educational approach revolves around instilling self-belief and resilience in children through positive experiences, ensuring they are well-prepared for adulthood.
Subject: Asas Sains Komputer (ASK), ICT, P.Moral, Financial Literacy
Mr. Uvarajan Murugan, with nine years of teaching experience, brings his expertise to Peninsula Private School, specialising in subjects like Computer Science Basics (Asas Sains Komputer, ASK) and Information & Communication Technologies (ICT). Mr Uvarajan’s teaching portfolio extends to subjects such as Mathematics, History, Bahasa Melayu, and English up to the secondary level. His teaching philosophy revolves around simplifying complex topics with real-life examples, fostering a positive classroom environment that encourages collaboration, and emphasising the value of learning from mistakes guided by teachers.

Meet Ms. Dorothy Kay Yen Sin, a passionate advocate for music education whose journey into teaching began during her university days. After graduating, she embarked on a teaching journey in music schools and recently joined UCSI University in 2022. Armed with five years of invaluable experience, she finds boundless joy in witnessing the moment when her students grasp and effortlessly apply the knowledge she imparts. Ms. Dorothy’s broad spectrum of expertise includes violin pedagogy, music theory, music history, and music appreciation. She believes in a teaching philosophy rooted in constructivism, prioritising interactive and practical learning experiences that encourage students to collaborate and engage with music alongside their peers.
