The transition into adolescence is a significant stage in a student’s development. Supporting students with the right guidance during this period helps them better understand themselves and navigate change with confidence.
To support this journey, upper primary and lower secondary students participated in a Puberty Awareness Programme designed to provide age-appropriate understanding of physical, emotional, and social changes during puberty. Through guided sessions, students were allowed to explore these changes in a safe and respectful environment.
A key focus of the programme was promoting personal hygiene, self-care, and body awareness for both boys and girls. Students were introduced to practical habits that support their daily well-being, helping them develop a stronger sense of responsibility towards their own health.
The sessions also addressed important areas such as healthy boundaries, consent, and responsible media use, encouraging students to make informed and respectful choices as they grow. By fostering open and guided discussions, the programme helped students build awareness and confidence in handling real-life situations.
To further support students, practical knowledge and resources were shared to help them navigate adolescence with greater ease. Female students were also provided with access to menstrual care resources, ensuring they feel prepared and supported during this stage.
Programmes like this play an important role in nurturing students’ confidence, resilience, and overall well-being. By equipping them with the right knowledge and support, students are better prepared to grow into self-aware and responsible individuals.
At Peninsula Private School, learning extends beyond academics. Through meaningful initiatives such as this, the school continues to support students holistically as they progress through each stage of their educational journey.
