Honouring Young Talent in Public Speaking

Peninsula Private School is delighted to announce that Primary 5 student, Lee Jenn Yee, has been honoured as the Category D Winner for Most Outstanding Speaker in the President’s Speech 2024 competition. This prestigious event, organised by HANKidz Leadership, is a motivational public speaking competition for students aged 5 to 12, aiming to inspire young minds to express themselves confidently.

Public speaking is a vital skill that enhances a child’s confidence, communication abilities, and critical thinking. Studies show that around 75% of adults have a fear of public speaking, yet an estimated 70% of employed Americans believe that presentation skills are critical to their success at work.

By engaging in public speaking from a young age, students like Jenn Yee are not only overcoming common fears but also building a foundation for future success.

Jenn Yee’s achievement reflects her dedication and the supportive environment fostered by the school’s educators. Her participation in the President’s Speech competition has provided her with valuable experiences, contributing to her personal growth and resilience.

Parents can take pride in knowing that their children are encouraged to participate in such enriching activities, which prepare them for future academic and professional endeavours. The school’s commitment to holistic education ensures that students are equipped with essential life skills, fostering well-rounded individuals ready to make a positive impact in the world.

This event is organised in support of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
